Marvel’s Black Widow (2021) was a highly anticipated movie in the MCU – it was only a matter of time before Captain America (Chris Evans) finally came face to face with the world’s biggest supervillain. The movie is now in theaters and streaming on Disney Plus.

This is Black Widow, after all, and the culmination of the Russo brothers’ Infinity Saga. The film’s plot centers around a young Natasha Romanoff (Evans) and her relationship with Romanoff (Evans), who becomes the new Black Widow. They are now fighting alongside each other and trying to stop the World-Eater (played by Robert Downey Jr.) from creating the first Iron Man suit.

Following a fairly weak origin story, the film ends with Romanoff and her mercenary father General Thaddeus Ross (Olga Kurylenko) finally arriving to try and stop Natasha’s brainwashing.

This was an emotionally draining affair, and arguably the strongest character arc we’ve seen in a film. However, one thing we really need to highlight is how powerful this character really is.

By this point in the film, Romanoff is actually the woman who could become Iron Man. To explain why she would want to be a member of the Avengers, the film makes no attempt to bring her face to face with a female character. Instead, the film opts for a more intimate affair.

In the end, however, Natasha tells her friends to take her away from the Avengers, and they immediately join forces.

This also places one of the film’s more complex and emotionally powerful storylines in an interesting place, especially in light of the way this film deals with not only her relationship with Tony Stark, but also her death.

As a final boss, Tony Stark’s demise is undoubtedly one of the most tragic in the film. When we finally witness that, however, he’s not in full control.

While the rest of the film’s setup feels familiar, it goes so far as to find out that Tony Stark sacrificed himself in order to save his girlfriend’s life. It’s understandable that many assumed this meant that Tony Stark sacrificed himself to save the universe, but it just doesn’t feel like a satisfactory conclusion.

Most people will have their own theories about how Tony was truly killed. He makes it clear that he didn’t see a bright future for his wife. In order to avoid making a negative or tragic ending for his character, the film has to have Tony’s death spoiled for the audience.

With this in mind, it’s clear that Tony didn’t want his wife killed. It was just too much of an eyesore for him to pull off. Considering how disappointing it was to see his family disintegrate, this death is a little disappointing.

One of the most satisfying scenes in the film is when Tony finds out that he was truly cured. It’s a pretty great scene in the film, but there’s no denying the lengths he went to.

By the end of the film, Tony knew he was in danger of dying.
