Big Scale Racing
Big Scale Racing brings the fun back to high-powered racing by taking the original Big Scale Racing to a new level. The game will feature a number of drivers, one with the full roster of vehicles from the previous games, along with more cars than ever before. And then there's Big Scale Racing, the first next-generation Big Scale Racing game for the Xbox 360.
Like its predecessors, Big Scale Racing will offer an authentic car racing experience. This isn't exactly what a racing game is all about, but it's something that fans of the genre will want to check out. If they want to check out Big Scale Racing and see what it has to offer, they'll want to do so before they buy it. And even if they aren't interested in racing games, they can still check out the games in the form of 7-8 games that can be played without having to buy anything new.
Unfortunately, though Big Scale Racing will have online racing, it's not the type of racing game that fans are used to seeing from Codemasters. For example, there are no online options for Big Scale Racing at the time of this writing, making it the least appealing of the games featured on Xbox.
Big Scale Racing, unfortunately, has multiplayer modes, and while that sounds like a wasted opportunity, it will be interesting to see if the franchise moves forward. The Last of Us Part 2 is a hugely controversial game, and while the decision to make it a single-player game has certainly had some fans upset, others will likely be happy to see the company step forward and offer something new instead.
The Quarry is an interactive movie and a spiritual successor to the Until Dawn series, with it in development at Supermassive Games. In The Quarry, players make their choices through dialogue and choice, which can influence the events in the story. It's been revealed that The Quarry is in fact a movie, but it's unclear if that means that the game will be anything like the television series. Regardless, The Quarry has a really strong story that makes it well worth checking out, and it's great that it's leaving the Xbox Game Pass service on day one.
The Medium is a brand new horror game that combines elements of psychological horror and Metroidvania-style games. Players take on the role of a medium named Marianne who has to explore a spirit world and solve the mystery of the Maw. The Medium is a day one Xbox Game Pass game, and it's definitely worth checking out for fans of The Medium and its unique art style. The Medium is a next-generation game, so it will be interesting to see if it manages to stand out from the crowd.
Out of all the next-gen Xbox games, Forza Horizon 5 is arguably the most impressive. It's the first main series game in the series and was actually announced a couple of years ago, though Microsoft has since kept quiet on when exactly that will be coming to the game. Rumors have persisted that Forza Horizon 5 will be a launch title for Xbox Series X, and so fans will just have to wait to find out.
As far as critically-acclaimed racing games go, Need for Speed Heat earned mixed reviews when it launched in 2020. However, it's definitely earned a high-quality place in the hearts of many racing game fans, and so the fact that the game is coming to Xbox Game Pass just as it was a day one Xbox Game Pass game is exciting. Forza Horizon 5 will be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers from day one on day one, but they can get the game on PC as well as the Xbox Series X when it launches on November 10.
While Need for Speed Heat won't be at the Xbox Series X launch, it will still be available to those that have the Xbox Series S. And if they buy the new Xbox Series X console, they will be able to play the game for just $499. Buying the Xbox Series S version will give those who haven't used one of the many next-generation consoles an even better chance at beating the Xbox One version of Need for Speed Heat.
Originally supposed to be a launch title for the Xbox One's successor, Halo Infinite, fans will have to wait for its potential release date to be announced at E3. However, there is at least one new game that they can look forward to hearing about at E3, which is Project Scarlett.
Halo Infinite is expected to launch as a cross-generation title between Xbox One and Xbox Series X, and it will be the first next-gen exclusive game that's being built using the new Xbox hardware. The games industry may not be looking to get off on the next-generation consoles entirely, but they are still rather ambitious, so it seems the studios will be putting all their efforts into next-gen games.
