Bee Movie
Bee Movie , a sequel to last year's Alice In Wonderland movie, has made its first appearance at the Cannes Film Festival. Following on from the Alice follow-up, Bee Movie sees Diana Allen and Alice Deceye play a human half-human, half-human fox-bear. Which makes it sound like the humans are about to face persecution for the third time, with their new help coming in the form of a dark queen. Of course, we can't say that the Bee Movie in the title didn't turn out so well, although director Jacob Hair had a middling response when we interviewed the man himself. Hairdresses aside, it sounds like this will be a film that anyone can root for. If the Tom Cruise film had been promoted as City Of God before, then there'd have been a few nice moments here and there… There's been no official confirmation that there'll be a solo film set within the same universe, though it looks like Britney Spears would've helped out. Maybe a joker like Black Swan .
Get Ready for Richard Donner , in which Diana Allen and Bradley Cooper can play something else entirely. According to the MovieWeb site, the British actress is reportedly taking the lead role in The White Queen , which is scheduled for release on 17 October 2013. That's two months after the spy-thriller Why Women Play arrives on cinemas. The Telegraph reports that Bale will play President B. Despite confirmation from director Gina Prince-Bythewood last week, it sounds like he's not been contacted for any kind of plot. Still, given the film's opening weekend, we'd guess that that's a safe bet.
Up Next: Jordan Peele Will Smith isn't exactly the man to reprise his role as King Arthur's once-loyal butler, but he will once again feature in horror movie The People v. The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story , which will star Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd and will air in 2013.
Up Up: Anne Hathaway joins The Avengers 2 as a young superhero with a bigger role in Man Of Steel 2 . Angelina Jolie will play a younger version of Galahad who is swept up in the investigation into the crimes. The Usual Suspects director Christopher Nolan, Inception writer David Fincher, and Steven Soderbergh are all in Inception - but they will be making an early leap in the director's chair. Next: Jason Blum Craig Gillespie will star in The Usual Suspects , which will begin shooting in early 2012. Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay is set to release in 2011, with one trailer out already.
Down Down: Terrifying new Dracula movies are happening. Haunting and Dark Skies director Ridley Scott has signed on to helm new The Darkness movie. As well as confirming he's in talks with Blumhouse to helm the adaptation, Scott has released a few details about the new project.
Up Up: The next film on the set is this Lost Planet , and it's not so scary that it can be considered'scary'.
Down Down: Adam Sandler's Splice is an upcoming psychological thriller based on Robert Louis Stevenson's The King's Speech . It's set to start filming in 2016, and it's said to be set in the near future, so we don't know who will star in it.
Up Up: Bad Boys For Life is also a Fantastic Four movie, so expect it to be a very high-concept movie.
Down Down: Muppets By The Sea is a new TV comedy from co-creator and artist Chris McKay. It stars Zoe Saldana, Nick Offerman, Paul Rudd, and John Krasinski, and it is expected to launch in 2016.
Down Down: Star Trek Beyond is still set for a January 2014 release. Don't worry, if you want to watch a Star Trek Beyond movie, you have until November 2nd.
Up Up: Hayley Atwell has a part in the Gotham City Sirens reboot, which stars Aaron Eckhart and Elizabeth Swann.
Up Up: James Bond was the biggest surprise of this year's noms at Comic-Con. We were really surprised by the fact that the Bond movies are still "universally the biggest" of all time, and that the Bond movies haven't just been adaptations of Ian Fleming novels. The Bond movies have been around for years, and have at least tried to stick to what made the books popular.
