Backyard Football 2006: Backyard Football 2007 has been in development for nearly three years now, and, so far, all we know is that it's in development for the Xbox 360, PS2, PSP, PC, DS, and GameCube. However, we were fortunate enough to check out the latest build of the game that recently hit the web, which brings with it the next-generation features that have made the first game so popular.

The game features an improved gameplay engine, three teams (Reds, Bears, and Jaguars), and three new stadiums: St. Louis (Rome), Cujo, and Shorra. It seems like an all-new game engine is on the cards for Backyard Football 2006, but judging from the images that have been released so far, we can see that it is indeed in the work-in-progress state.

The game's career mode is the most obvious difference in Backyard Football 2006. The game is being built from the ground up to feature both online and offline play in addition to an enhanced tutorial. However, the offline play isn't without its drawbacks. While it seems like a no-brainer to pick up a game, it's definitely not one of the most important features in Backyard Football 2006. The game is also noticeably shorter than it was in last year's game, which is one of the reasons the developer is attempting to capture the "true" college experience in Backyard. The game will feature about 10 different environments to choose from, each with its own theme, personality, and style. Each locale will have several individual schools and have its own mini-games. For example, the large town on the backyard might be the perfect size for a quest or a race. On the other hand, the small town with a larger open space could be ideal for a training camp, while the town with a shorter grid is ideal for a shot-calling game.

You'll also find that most of your success will come from managing your team. Unfortunately, you'll have to manage a team in Backyard Football 2006. While each team will have its own unique strengths and weaknesses, the coaches will play much like the real team. They'll select five players from a pool of coaches and they'll select a play-by-play (PIP) player and the type of offensive play that they want to play. If you're looking for a more traditional game of football, you'll be able to pick up the plays you'll need to form a roster.

A better-looking version of the game will feature all the rules of football and will also feature a new player-creation mode. If you've ever played a Madden game, you'll find that the computer-controlled players in Backyard Football 2006 are pretty darn accurate. You'll be able to create a variety of different players and train them up for a new generation of football. You'll also be able to set them up in your team's training area to perform some basic coaching chores like ball-handling. The game will also include an option to check out the game's new franchise mode. The franchise mode has been overhauled to be more of a core experience and features more development than what you might be used to. You'll be able to customize every aspect of your franchise in this mode, which has been enhanced a bit. You'll be able to manage both your staff and your team's staff, and you'll be able to set up your competitions with your custom players.

Backyard Football 2006 will offer a new single-player campaign that offers a full narrative that will let you try to make some cash as a football nut.

In addition to the single-player game, Backyard Football 2006 will offer a number of gameplay modes, including a simulation of career mode that will let you run a club from start to finish. Your primary goal in career mode will be to earn as many trophies as you can for your team, and you'll earn enough cash to improve your skills as a player and earn enough points to let you buy upgrades for your overall staff. You'll also be able to take part in a number of minigames that will let you earn upgrades for your players and you can even purchase coaches and players. You'll have a good selection of stadiums to choose from and a large assortment of stadium types to choose from, which will make it easier to pick up a real-life team.

Backyard Football 2006

Backyard Football 2006 is shaping up to be a solid improvement over the last year's entry. The visuals in the game are looking sharp and are looking sharp. The Xbox game, while still incomplete, will feature some minor improvements over the last year's game, especially when it comes to the passing game. The game's lighting engine has been tweaked a bit and the AI has seen some refinements that offer a better challenge in an area than before. You'll notice a bit more detail on the stadiums when you play them, which is particularly noticeable when you consider that the last year's game was simply titled "the best football game of the year." On the field, you'll find player likenesses of real-life names and players, which are a nice touch.
