Armies of Exigo
Armies of Exigo: Assault on the Edge is the latest entry in the mech-themed combat series from AOE. Developed by Cauldron, the game is due to hit PC this winter.
"We are proud to present Armies of Exigo: Assault on the Edge," says Jim Cooper, head of the EALA group. "It takes us one step closer to delivering an enjoyable real-time mech-combat experience.
"We also want the game to offer players a combination of futuristic and battle-hardened combat. Battles in the game will take place in the year 2060, and players will join forces to overthrow the Nazis and their war machine."
The PC game will feature 3D arenas, a variety of weapons, and new units that make up the core of the game. There's even a hidden boss character you'll have to fight to unlock.
Armies of Exigo: Assault on the Edge is due out later this year.
As well as Bolt of Steel and Rayman Origins, Nail'd launches this autumn.
Developed by Big Red Button, these include Nexon's Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, JoyJoy's Samurai Shodown 2, and Tap! Studio's Little Devil Inside.
Finally, we'll get a release date for Rock Band 2, Nail'd.
There's no word on price yet, but here's the full list of confirmed tracks from Nail'd:
On top of that, the game will include a separate Rock Band subscription service.
February has been full of interesting news for The Witcher 3, which appears to be gaining momentum.
We saw this during Microsoft's E3 press conference - and one of the biggest stories at that.
A new map is set in a medieval castle, and a new minigame is being added.
Though it's a small-scale, download-only piece, The Witcher 3 looks set to be one of the biggest launch titles of the year.
We also saw some announcements for FIFA 14, the next iteration in EA Sports' FIFA franchise, and the motion control feature from Project Natal.
It's a busy and fast weekend for PC gamers, with Valve's Portal 2 showing its evolution as a successful launch title.
It's also great to see Left 4 Dead 2 in action, so maybe more people will try it out for themselves.
These games will also be making an appearance at the PC Gaming Show at the same time as the big show, so watch out for it.
Finally, we heard a news story about Gears of War 3 for Xbox 360, which is not exclusive to the platform but will be exclusive to Microsoft's console.
Creative director of Gears of War 3 Rod Fergusson told us that Gears of War 3 would be a much bigger game than its predecessors and would be the first in the series to launch on PC.
"We've always been in the PC space, so a big game like Gears of War 3, but for us, it's just kind of a combination of a bunch of guys at Epic working on things. And then at the end of the day, we'll take Gears of War 3 and play it on PC.
"There are a lot of decisions that went into making the PC version of the game, and we wanted to take advantage of all of those things. We wanted to make sure it's pretty good and play-able, we want to make sure it's got the type of gameplay we have on consoles," he said.
Fergusson explained that they've also included "cut scenes" for players to see through the eyes of Marcus Fenix and other characters, but of course, they can't do this until the game's finished. "And what they want is a smaller area to really experience the game. So the people who are going to be getting this for themselves will find out there is a small section there, but it's important that we have that in the game," he said. "And the sort of things that we are delivering on are, 'Well, this is just a bunch of players going to be able to experience this and have fun with it.' That's something we have to do in the game."
According to Spencer, Gears of War 4 aims to deliver a good mix of action, puzzles, and exploration. And in this case, the result is quite the journey.
"That's what we're putting together in this new world," he said. "We're moving into new environments and looking at the characters and so on. We're building that and building that experience and connecting it to Gears of War. It's very open to the player, we're not changing what we're doing but we're making it more of a kind of explorative game. That's something we have to learn more about and trying to build that into a true adventure."
As for what to expect from the story, Spencer said Gears of War 4 will see players "build a relationship between characters" and solve puzzles as you move forward.
