Apocalyptica
Apocalyptica is one of the last remaining empires on Earth. There are more than 1,000 of them in the game, and the world isn't safe from the terrible humans that continue to experiment with technology.
Developer Crystal Dynamics has spent the past few years trying to create a more realistic game. Originally planned as a third-person action game, Apocalyptica combines first-person shooter gameplay with role-playing elements and exploration. In the game, you play as one of the following pilots, who are all men and women fighting with different kinds of guns. We had the opportunity to go hands-on with the game during a visit to the PlayStation Port, and we found it to be as entertaining as any other game we've seen.
Apocalyptica takes place in the year 19th in the mid-Atlantic. As a result of your pilot's crash, you're tasked with exploring the North Atlantic in search of the surviving members of your squad. Your companions are equipped with a variety of weapons, including conventional handguns, machine guns, and assault rifles. When exploring the Pacific, you'll find that the game features mission objectives that can be picked up by your friends. An exact date on how the missions will play out is currently unknown, but our team has yet to confirm when we'll be able to start playing it.
Much like the first Silent Hill game, the Silent Hill games follow the paranormal investigation that begins when a group of children becomes possessed by the dark creatures in their dreams. However, while this premise might seem simple, the game also uses a lot of the mechanics found in the Konami series in order to create a truly unique experience. In addition to its gameplay, the game features a branching storyline that requires your decisions to sway the course of the game's story. There are no real-time cutscenes in the game, and you'll be forced to watch several cutscenes in order to advance the story. As a result, you'll spend most of the game simply investigating the strange monsters you encounter. The development team worked hard to ensure that the gameplay in the game was as responsive and accessible as possible.
The demo we played took place in a small town, and the basic plot was conveyed through an enhanced version of the original game's FMV. Though you can play the game through the traditional single-player adventure mode, the game also features a few different story scenarios that tell a completely different story. While the game isn't being developed by Konami, the studio has a long history of working on different games that have been used in the past. The company has also developed two of its own canceled Dreamcast games, The House of the Dead 2 and Silent Hill 3: Corruption.
The gameplay in the game is similar to the original game's, albeit with some changes. You'll have more control over your character's inventory and the weapons he's using. You'll still be able to shoot, interact with, and pick up weapons as you explore, but you'll be able to use items more in the heat of battle. You'll also have more control over your character's basic movements. For example, when using the light beam, you'll use the left analog stick to fire. When you're on foot, you'll use the right analog stick to fire, while the circle button will let you climb up. You'll also be able to activate a vacuum that will suck up any items that are lying on the ground. While in the heat of battle, you'll be able to move your character around in the various environments you'll explore.
The graphics in the game are shaping up to be very impressive. The PlayStation 2 version of the game will feature some fairly crisp animation, and the effect is a little rough around the edges but isn't too shabby. The various enemy designs are a good showcase of the character's considerable polygon prowess. You'll find standard, standard, and enemy types that will do a good job of showing off the impressive lighting effects in the game. The assorted enemies you'll encounter will also feature some nice touches, as they'll have unique designs and attacks. You'll find a solid assortment of enemies in the various environments you'll explore. You'll find some unique touches that make use of the PS2's unique hardware capabilities. The assorted foes you'll face will range from standard foes that are comparable to your regular foes to some of the larger foes you'll have to deal with. The assorted foes you'll encounter will offer a nice break from the standard assortment of foes and offer a good change of pace from the foes you'll come across. The assorted foes you'll find yourself facing include assorted foes of assorted types, such as assorted bosses that have different attacks. The assorted foes you'll face will feature a good amount of variety and are well done. You'll find some unique touches that will be nice to see. You'll find some unique touches in the game's visuals.
