Airport Tycoon 2 has been pushed back until February. Publisher Big Sugar announced the delay on Wednesday. The simulation sequel promises to raise the bar for simulation games, and will be published by Codemasters and endorsed by the Advertising Standards Agency.

"This move was not lightly designed, and we're acutely aware that it has made its fair share of sacrifices to ensure our fans will get the most out of this title," said senior producer Dennis Maltin. "Unfortunately, given the scale and scope of the project, it has been significantly delayed to ensure a strong connection with the players."

The sequel, which will feature new scenarios, enhanced graphics, and new aircraft such as the GLA1 VTOL, will follow a timeline of international challenges that lead to an international crash, a dispute with the US Air Force, and a larger geopolitical conflict.

The game will be playable for the first time at E3, and it will be a free-to-play game that will be playable in demo form at the show.
