1000 Years Endless War

1000 Years Endless War (PC) is a real-time strategy game set on Mars and we’re pleased to report that it’s very much in the same ballpark as Total Annihilation (known as Total Annihilation in the US) and in terms of the visuals and mechanics, it’s far from a typical Total Annihilation-type game.

You begin the game in the perspective of the great and noble Martian colonists who escaped an alien invasion on Mars, and then your fledgling base of operations in the wake of your initial base comes under attack. You’re tasked with commanding six or seven hardened factions, and it’s here that you’ll need to build defences to defend your base against any advances you may have, and the selection of armies available from each faction is very varied.

As the name suggests, you start the game in an extremely fragile, fragile colony, and as time passes your colonists will grow weaker and weaker, until you’re able to build more defenses to repair and maintain, and in turn, increase their ranks to make use of improved weapons and shields. You’ll need to rely on careful micromanagement to survive, and the game’s increasingly complex AI will more than likely demand you solve a particularly complex set of simple mathematical problems.

You begin the game as a humble farm worker, but eventually you’ll be subjected to a war for survival, where your last hope is to build a military force of only the most advanced and best-protected ones, the military guerilla tactics employed by each of the ten different factions, and the one that’s best placed to show off your daring, cunning, and highly accurate skills as a commander.

Playing as either a standard commander or the commander in Warhammer: Chaosbane, you’ll have a set number of reinforcements available to you. Unlike most other RTS games, it doesn’t take much time for all of them to become available, and while it’s not quite a chess match of tactical prowess, it’s nonetheless a very good time for tactics veterans.

One of the most unique things about Warhammer: Chaosbane is the way that your forces will be made up of entirely different units. These units have completely different stats, and the game won’t actually be using them for anything other than control of the battlefield.

Because of this, it’s critical that you prioritize some of the unit types that can be given a major offensive boost. Of course, there’s no guaranteed way to increase your units’ defensive capabilities, but we’ll come back to that later.

BattleTech Although it’s obviously pretty good at a lot of things, the game isn’t really long enough to be fun for most players. Thankfully, we’ve made it fairly clear in the game’s tutorial that the experience is pretty much the same as it was before, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, we want you to get your eyes on the game early on, and at this point you should be able to have a good grasp on the basics. If you don’t have time to play the game, you won’t be able to start with a lot of units. If you know what you’re doing in the game, you might want to keep things simple and just get a taste of what the game is all about.

Master of Technology Finally, a lot of people have been playing the beta of BattleTech. The early feedback has been great. We have a large group of players who have been playing the beta, but some people have expressed concerns that the game is too complex and complicated. For example, if you played the beta, then you would know that the game is easy. But if you played the beta, you might know that the game is not easy. If you played the beta, you will understand the limitations of the game.

Our beta has some great stuff for you. We have the best army AI in the game. The new features in BattleTech are a huge step in our advancement. We have a new interface that shows you the unit types you can choose, it also shows you your units and your weapons, and it's very intuitive. The new waypoint system gives you a greater sense of control over your armies. We also have a very robust tech tree. With the expansion pack, we have also got to add a more advanced tech tree. All of this, plus the new toys in the game, really help set BattleTech apart from other games in the genre.

GS: How much work has been done on the multiplayer side of the game? Have you had any difficulty putting your foot down?

TB: While we don't have any concrete plans for it, we are aware of the issues with the game.
