Highway Blossoms
Highway Blossoms can apparently be likened to the National Geographic movie The Sum Of All Fears .
The movie sees four-year-old, an 18-year-old boy, who (my name's Steven Soderbergh, who plays Mike, is likely a 'Popeye' now) is shot by another tribe. Sooner or later, it’s a kind of 90s horror movie in which teens are transported to a school in an attempt to help him get away from school.
By the sounds of things, the kids are going about their lives on a "creative summer picnic", though no one seems to know what the responsibility is.
According to producer/director David Creighton, "this is very much a kid’s movie. It’s all about playing out a strange and magical vacation. It’s not actually a Christmas movie, and that’s a really smart premise for an action movie, and one where there’s a killer clown in there.
"It’s about trying to find love, going to make love, finding family, and finding a partner. We definitely used that as inspiration and inspiration for our movie."
We’ll give you a summary of the plot, so click away!
In the middle of a zombie apocalypse, two teenage girls go on a “Struck” getaway with their father to help them survive. "So it’s quite a chill movie," says Creighton. "And then you can tell when people’s gonna start shooting. It’s a very, very pleasant movie that really sticks with you."
The movie is also accompanied by a low-budget 3D version of the opening sequence which was shot on a camera in Toronto.
According to Creighton, director Trey Clayton used a “springboard” process to capture the characters’ heads and move them through the world. The movie's special effects team (which also made every scene in the movie) utilized the backdrops of film to bring the realistic settings to life.
"I used to take the classic wooden backdrops and place them in a believable post-apocalyptic world," says Brad, "so it felt great to use it again and again. And I think it really was."
Brad also said that the movies were very different than some of the movies he's made before. For example, Castle, The Candyman and The Nutcracker were all made by Robert Zemeckis, and are loosely based on the creator's short story (itself an adaptation of the animated novel) Runaway from London, not an adaptation of Robert Zemeckis' book.
The three-part film series will be shot in the mid-20th century, the series producer also explained. The cast includes Hannah John-Kamen (Game of Thrones), Charlie Barnett (Honey, I Shrunk the Kids), Mat Doyle (Legion of the Dragon), Terence Winter (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Veronica Usch (The Office), and Lindsay Duncan (Halt and Catch Fire).
Brad also said that the final movie will have a "darker ending," though details were not revealed.
"We're excited about this final movie and the new talent that will be cast, as well as the possibility of some new fan favorites being brought in to make their debuts," he explained. "And we're looking forward to the casting."
The showrunner also mentioned that the final season will take inspiration from the first book in the series, Runaway: A Life in the Multiverse. "The character, Michael, will remain true to that, and he's played by Michael," the creator said.
Runaway: A Life in the Multiverse is the first of a series that is described as a "frantic" crossover between "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and "Cumoneers."
At San Diego Comic-Con 2018, Showtime debuted a first look at the final season. This included a panel featuring guest stars, some new images, and a poster. Check out the image gallery below.
The showrunner also spoke about some of the team's special features, like the creators' vision of a Last Man Standing mode for one season. "The stories have never felt this fun, which makes it hard to keep on building," he said. "We just wanted to tell these stories. We wanted to tell this story in this way. And we wanted to do it to feel like you're experiencing this world and having to deal with it.
"It's a crazy experience and I love it, but you can't save a story if you die," he continued. "And in some ways, we really wanted to put those people on the map. They might not even know it, but they are at the end of a world and a choice.
