Genius Greedy Mouse
Genius Greedy Mouse, the latest game from former SNK and DC title creators J.C. Slater and Larry Daley, have been granted access to the Matrix license. Although he has been contracted to write the movie, Stern, the designer of the movie, has left the project to work with New Line Cinema. Although the former has released games based on both these properties, such as Shadow of the Beast, Space Invasion, and Timeshift, Stern and his team are currently in talks with New Line Cinema to make the movie. In an interview with Business Week, the pair's associate producer Graeme Manson explains his reasons for reworking the film. "We wanted the movie to be a 90's film, but also to be a good game. The quality and the visuals were never sacrificed, and the movie needs to be fun and feel unique." The sound director and actor Chris Miller is directing the movie, but his involvement doesn't mean that the movie is going to disappoint. "With J.C. Slater, we were aiming to build a very accessible and fun experience that was more accessible to a younger audience," added Stern. "So we just decided to make it a shooter, which was a good movie for everyone, and then actually actually just just making a game based on that movie." The only problem is that the game was never made, and if the movie was ever to be made, the game was going to be something of a mess.
MTV producers have put on a lot of good voice work for the game.
The team working on the game is split up between artists from the movie and Dreamworks staff to bring the story of the movie to life. The game's story follows the movie's three heroes as they attempt to stop an invasion by aliens. The story is all told through one of three key cinematics, and it looks pretty good. The cinematics will help bridge the movie's narrative, although there's not a lot of attention paid to the game in terms of the action.
As far as gameplay goes, the game will be a standard first-person shooter with light RPG elements, although some RPG elements will be thrown in. To get the most out of the game, the development team is working in a noninteractive level editor that will let you build a game in any direction, be it by choosing weapons, abilities, or attributes, and then plugging it in with your PC or console. While the game's basic mechanics and interface will be familiar to any RPG fan, the addition of a two-person camera and two-player cooperative play will be more significant.
The game will also offer a varied arsenal of weapons.
The game's graphics have remained true to the series, although some tweaks have been made to make them more visually appealing. The game's character models will be moving a good deal faster, and they will animate more realistically when you're using the game's engine, thanks to an impressive level of detail that appears to be being maintained in the game's 3D environments. The various levels in the game will feature a mix of lush outdoor environments, like the misty swamp and cavernous temples of a temple. The gameworld will feature a greater variety of enemies than any that have appeared in the previous game, which should make for some interesting play areas. A multitude of different enemies will also make an appearance in the game, including previously unseen foes like giant spiders and octopi. For example, we got to see one of these large spiders armed with a powerful venom-shaped weapon and which looked a bit different from the normal foes. The enemies in the game will range from standard big, shambling, spiderlike creatures to one that will yield numerous amounts of damage. The game will also feature impressive new enemies and boss characters, such as a mammoth spider that's big and spiky.
The game will also feature a robust character customization system that will let you customize your character's appearance as you play. You'll be able to import an existing character into the game's multiplayer mode to beef up the appearance of your character. While this means that the game will feature a total of 30 different body parts, each part will have its own individual attributes and statistics that will impact your character's appearance. When you're not playing with friends, you'll be able to get to know your virtual self and explore a rich world full of monsters and intriguing characters. While we weren't able to get a chance to see the game, we did see an impressive demo of one of the most interesting elements in the game: the locales. Though the areas of the game have been detailed and will include locales in familiar places, we were able to see some of them in the game. The outdoor areas were impressive and featured a dynamic day and night cycle that looked suitably dramatic. Besides the world, you'll find an impressive array of collectible items, including treasure chests that contain gems you'll need to open new areas.
