Dead Secret
Dead Secret is the recently announced side-scrolling action game that will put you in the role of George R.R. Martin, an English who has wandered the countryside delivering meat to people and sucking salt from dead bodies. The game is set in 16th century Europe, where soldiers of the world have been recruited into this country to investigate mysterious disappearances in Britain. A mysterious virus has appeared in London and has infected the public. George can't find him, and instead has to take the head of the remaining survivors.
Gameplay is similar to Capcom's recent King of Dragons. You can fly around the map and roam, battling with other characters to beat a rival commander. George also has to use a combination of weapons and his R trigger to defeat your opponents. You'll be able to upgrade George's attacks with the environment. The ultimate goal is to find out the truth about his story.
In the game, George will come across a number of strange creatures and mini-bosses that have been placed into the game. You will encounter smaller foes in the game and then have to take them down using the various weapons George has retrieved throughout the game. The puzzles in the game are actually quite simple and require the player to use the environment to their advantage. For example, you may need to use the plank of wood to reach the upper area of the chamber where the creatures dwell. In order to make things easier, you will have to use the fire in order to create a block of fire, which will help George progress.
The graphics in the game are quite impressive. The characters in the game are drawn with a very strong style that will likely appeal to fans of the anime series Naruto. The characters are designed to be very realistic and cartoonish, and the environments are quite varied. Some of the characters in the game were based on other characters from the show, such as Mob.
There is no specific platform for the game and only the one playable at E3. The other characters include George and Ochako, who are able to make the same movement as George and Ochako, and Kurt, a girl from another realm who is unable to move much. In addition to the PlayStation 2 game, the Xbox version of the game will have an original PS2 game called "Mizuki," and will feature the same roster as the Xbox version. The game is currently slated to hit store shelves in late 2002.
Character creation is where the game's core gameplay lies. The characters' abilities and stats will be enhanced by a new system that will let players adjust a variety of characteristics and attributes that they'll have access to on their characters. The game's interface has also been tweaked and will now have "markmanship" modifiers, a new "cooking" system that allows players to keep track of items and take control of their favorite dishes.
Many of the game's interface elements are also being redesigned to incorporate a more-nuanced interface that features an art style that will resemble that of SNK's Ikari Warriors series. In addition, all the previously-released characters in the PlayStation 2 game will now have a four-button layout, which is being recombined with a five-button layout. Each character will have a full three-button configuration that will let players create combos using only one of the four face buttons, three face buttons, three vertical buttons, and one action button. Another component of the new interface will be the color-coded question marks that appear on the screen in certain levels, and in addition to this, the icons for all characters in the game will also display blue, red, green, and blue letters, similar to the way the games' weapons were designed.
Interestingly, one of the designers at Aruze said that while the PS2 game is actually based on a fully animated anime, it will also incorporate additional touches that are comparable to the in-game characters and manga. The color-coded question marks are tied to certain areas of the game, so for example, while in the Japanese version of the game, all of the special power-ups (such as soul shells, potions, and weapons that let you slow down time) have five levels of effect (based on the settings of the TV show), in the English version, all characters and items will be black, white, and purple, while in the Japanese version, all of the specials will be completely black.
In addition, while the original games had a fairly straightforward RPG-style quest structure, the PlayStation 2 game will have you traveling to a number of different locations, from countryside towns and villages to castle castles and dungeons. The game will feature a total of 10 different locales, but the levels will be roughly the same as the main one. Like in the TV show, you'll be able to roam around these different towns and will also be able to interact with your summoned creatures. You'll have the option to attack or give them treats, which can be performed by pressing a button.
