Adele: Following the Signs’ pass, Idris Elba makes his own bow, making his official debut as a part of the film’s cast. But it is currently unknown whether Idris will reprise his role as ad agency Ladybug in the film, or if she will instead be playing Ladybug as an actor instead. However, Elba’s other potential involvement is a role where Elba meets Katie Hoffman, a key figure in the already significant book. And while we can’t yet know how Elba’s role will be performed in the film, he seems well-suited to appearing in the thriller’s present day. The movie’s coming on DVD and Blu-ray in the States (November 19) and also sees Ladybug on the hunt for a man with ties to the household. Sounds like that could be a great time to be interested in the film’s action sequences, as it could provide an excellent opportunity for Elba to shine as one of the two main characters. Elba is no stranger to action, having played Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, he’s also played roles in the James Bond franchise, and it’s intriguing to think that Elba may have another starring role. Not only will he’ll be the character played by Sofia Boutella, but he will also have the supporting role of Captain Kidd. At present Elba seems like he could just be the main star of the film, but the interest in playing a character that’s so different from the others is clearly very much real.
