IL-2 Sturmovik, originally released in 1997, is still one of the best World War II combat simulations on the PC. It casts you as a member of the German war machine and lets you choose one of the Allied countries to assume control of. The game includes 25 realistic units including the Germany, the Americans, the British, and the Japanese. The war machine has been improved and features a number of new buildings and machinery that have been improved as well. There is also a multiplayer mode that supports up to eight players on LAN and a number of minigames.

Impossible Creatures may have seemed like an obvious pick for a game from the 1996/1999 PC-98 effort, but it wasn't nearly as ambitious as it sounds. However, the reason why it's great is that it feels like a whole new game. It's interesting, graphically, and heavily inspired by a lot of the previous Sierra games, like Havas's Pharaoh, but it still sports a very unique and addictive gameplay.

Imperishable Night Game is a special passenger vehicle that must use at least one type of electric vehicle to travel between locations. A new mechanic for Imperishable Night Game, the fire alarm, was implemented, which in turn is what adds a degree of chaos to a crash-landing environment. Instead of being directed to the safety of a control tower, however, the fire alarm is so much more than that, it keeps happening.

Imperium Romanum is now on the market, and I haven't even had a chance to play it yet. (I could, though, play it myself.) However, I recently got to try out a demo version of the game that showed off the feature. Imperium Romanum is a god-god strategy game where you control every single one of the world's nine realms. You can control each of your realms by building individual lands. These lands consist of coastal regions, mountains, forests, and other structures that you can build and then expand. Like any real-time strategy game, your units can now do so with either a number of stylus-like buttons, or using the stylus for a mouse. The interface is reminiscent of Civilization III: Conquests--this is the most obvious difference, since the controls are very much like those of a 3D RTS.
